Candela
Exhibition at Madrid Knackers’ Yard

As if it were a great sculpture Candela spreads its flames around the 736 metre long space. The radiance that comes from behind the wooden shapes shows a spectral image, like a light halo that has to do with the sacred.

This way of working reminds us of the way it has worked in Cuba to eulogise the martyrs of Plaza de la Revolución in Habana, transformed into a left wing sanctuary with large dimension images of the faces of Che Guevara, Camilo Cienfuegos or Lenin.
